This long-time provider of software to the University and large-fundraising space started making inroads into the K-12 space around 2010. Their offering is native and online. It’s a soup-to-nuts type of school management software comparable to Renweb, but with stronger fundraising modules. At one time, it was considerably more expensive than Renweb, but the company continues to adjust its pricing for small schools.
What is the price range for using this for your school?
Blackbaud was built for Universities (primarily communicating with students aged 18+.) Using it for a PK-12 school (330 students / 200 families) has been complex and frustrating in communication, scheduling, and grading. It is powerful, but extremely time-consuming to learn (soooo many layers and clicks), migrate, build every form, train staff, and troubleshoot when things don’t work as expected. We can text emergency messages to our whole community (of those who manually opt-in / not possible to enroll all with an opt-out feature for texts, only email), but must use a separate provider to text sub-groups.
