The artist who influenced my work is God, the ultimate artist of all creation. The flowers represent the emergence of spring, which is a reflection of the renewal God gave humanity in Christ. The soft yellow and warm orange of the flowers show the subtlety of God’s Creation, because while springtime is often associated with vibrant colors, God also conveys beauty through quietness. Psalm 1:3 says that the righteous man prospers and does not wither when he is planted by streams of water. The water in the vase is symbolic of living waters, allowing nature to bloom and grow, as Christ has brought refreshment and renewal to a weary race. With this piece I endeavor to exemplify Christ’s goodness and beauty which can be found in His Creation.
