This acrylic is actually of my beloved family dog of 6 years, Molly is enjoying a sunny day in our garden. We adopted her in 2017 as a hairless, neglected and elderly dog, but to us, she soon became a treasure. As she is now nearing the end of her life, I wanted to create a painting in her honor for our family to appreciate and recollect the stories of our first dog. I wanted this painting to express her sunny happiness in all things and the enjoyment we had in taking care of her for all these years. Although my painting style is not the same as Beatrix Potter, nor even the same medium, I am inspired by her to paint in a similar mindset. Like her, I paint to create something that will hopefully be beautiful, simple, and tells a story. In my paintings, and particularly in this one, I want to give joy to the viewer by portraying the simple joys that the Creator blesses us with through the beauty of His creation.
