This piece was inspired by Norman Rockwell’s comprehensive portrayal of life-experiences through his art. He captures small, but significant moments in childhood and adulthood like babysitting or going to the principal’s office. His main subject is people doing things that are seemingly insignificant, and making it either funny or impactful. My little brother, Matthew, the one portrayed in my piece, was visiting a vintage arcade. The machines in the picture are ones that my mom could have played with when she was his age. She is passing on a small, but memorable childhood experience.
