For my project, I decided to play with light and shadows. Gas stations stand out to me because at night, they are lit with almost every kind of light. Acrylic paint has always been a fun and easy medium for me; it adds texture and design as well as intricate details that catch close watching eyes. The classical artist that inspired me is Edward Hopper, as his paintings are full of detail and nostalgia. I chose to include a classic car in my painting as well to reach back into the 60’s and 70’s style, adding to the nostalgic and detailed feeling the warm light portrays.
