Something I love about art is how it captures moments of life and pours them out to viewers. John Singer Sargeant is someone I deeply admire for his intuition in this. Looking at one of his paintings is a reception of beauty, expression, and personality. My grandma, Mamou as we call her, has a gentle wisdom that everyone who meets her can see. I did my best to capture, just as Sargeant so excellently can, the love and depth that she carries, and hope that it gives others a small sliver of the pleasure it gives me.
