I have always admired the drawings of an American writer and illustrator of children’s books, Robert McCloskey. I am particularly fond of the expressions of curiosity and joy that he establishes in the faces of children. In my drawing “Her First Apple”, I hoped to catch the sense of fascination with God’s creation that little children have – even with something as simple as tasting an apple. In our busy world today we loose our gratitude and awe so quickly. May we, like little children, never loose our sense of wonder.
