Position desired: Teacher
Subjects you can teach: 7-12 Humanities Teacher, 7-12 Vocal Music Teacher
Willing to relocate to: Southeast
Summary:
I am a private Christian school educator with over 30 years experience in the classroom, and 5 years in administration. I am an adoptive father who is completing 5 years as a home school teacher of 4 adopted sisters. I am looking to return to the regular classroom for the duration of my teaching career. I am looking for the chance to apply for a position in the area of my experience and strength that will also allow my youngest daughter to have a classroom education through her middle and high school years.
I have provided instruction to students in each of the middle and secondary history subjects including AP Histories, as well as Bible, Worldview and arts courses including bands, chorus, and drama. I am comfortable presenting before class sizes from small groups to full assemblies, and have experience planning for all the above-mentioned courses with varied emphases to accommodate a multicultural body of students aged from K3 to adult. Training teachers in the rigor and flexibility necessary for successful private school instruction and administrating a K-12 school have provided a great broadening of perspective regarding what success in private Christian school education entails. I also have experience in education administration, having been a high school principal and K-12 school principal.
I am excited at the prospect of joining the staff of a private Christian school where I can become a contributing member.

Theology: My theology rests on a Christian worldview perspective and can be summarized under the terms of Creation, Fall and Redemption.
Creation:
There is a God who made everything and everyone there is and remains involved in this creation.
He is a Trinity, One essence and three Persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit – co-equal. God is love.
The Father is Almighty, the Creator, Judge and Justifier. He is the One and only Creator, Maker of Heaven and Earth and everything and everyone. The Father begot, or procreated the Son.
The Son is the Savior, Lord and King. Everything was made through Him; every knee will ultimately bow before Him. Jesus Christ is the Son who came into time and space history to save humans from the destruction they initiated by disobeying God.
The Holy Spirit is the Comforter, Counsellor and Guide. He helps us remember everything the Son says.
Fall:
Everything God made was perfect, including human beings to whom He gave the power to make choices. He placed a choice
Belief in the inerrancy of Scripture?: Yes
Notes on Scripture:
Additional classical training: Outside music, I have no formal classical training.
Why I want to teach at a classical school: I am by trade, a historian. My appreciations are by development, classical. It is no mistake that the fullness of time for Jesus;’ first arrival was during the classical period and that God had allowed what we call “classical” to have come into being for such a time. Training within this context makes logical and historical sense. I would like to be a part of that style of instruction.
Final thoughts: I am male, Caucasian and in my mid 60s. I know that at this time in our culture, this combination is not generally smiled upon, be that right or wrong.
I wanted to make this declaration so that there would be no surprises and so that anyone who might contact me would have made a considered decision to do so.
