Position Information
Position desired: Teacher
Subjects you can teach: Arts and Media Teacher, K-6 General Classroom Teacher, Latin-Basic Teacher
Willing to relocate to: Anywhere in US
Summary:
I have been working with children in the UK for the past ten years assisting them in the after school hours in the capacity of a Tutor/Nanny. In this role I had the opportunity to support students with their academic work by assisting them with their homework assignments and by providing them with extra curriculum teaching in Latin, visual arts and drama. I have also had the opportunity to teach in Classical schools in US few decades ago. My responsibility back then was to instruct students in the primary level in Latin.
For the past ten years I have been writing children stories, some biblical and other fictional. I love writing to children and although I have not been able to secure a traditional publishing contract yet, I do hope to achieve this goal someday. Communicating and inspiring children by means of the written word sums up my professional endeavour in the long term.
I love working with children. I am passionate about teaching and about promoting their God given potential. Although I was not able to work in a Christian environment for a long time, and for some reason was not able to use my US education here in the UK, I hope to be able to do so by secure a teaching contract in United States.

Top 5 Books: Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens
Great Expectations by Charles Dickens
Bleak House by Charles Dickens
Little Dorrit by Charles Dickens
Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell
Top 3 Books: Little Dorrit, Bleak House and Great Expectations by Dickens. I have been prompted to read them by the author that has been supporting and inspiring my Christian imagination for the last few decades – Eugene Peterson. I love Dickens for his wonderful humanity and for shedding light on the darkest places of poverty and injustice and of social/political inadequacies. I love him for bringing his characters to life and for setting before us dramas that are as real and as authentic as life itself. I love him for loving humanity so deeply and relentlessly. I very much agree with Peterson when he says Dickens is a godly author.
Most Influential Books: The Brothers Karamazov by Dostoyevsky
East of Eden by Steinbeck
Bleak House by Dickens

Theology: On the reformed side- believe in God’s sovereignty in salvation and redemption of the world through Christ. Believe in the sanctity of life and in the upholding the Genesis teaching regarding man and woman – equally- being made in the image of God. Believe in the centrality of the cross and resurrection from the beginning to end of my experience. Believe in God’s presence and love to sustain and carry his own.
Belief in the inerrancy of Scripture?: Yes
Notes on Scripture: The Scriptures are the Word of God to us to instruct us and create in us salvation, ethical living and a personal relationship with him through the Spirit who inspired the Word. The Scriptures are living and foundational in recreating the humanity that has fallen into sin. The Scriptures are purposely – about Christ and about what Christ has done for his people in reclaiming the lost Eden.
Additional classical training: I have participated to Classical Christian training in the past. Have read the inspiring article Recovering the Lost Tools of Learning by Dorothy Sayers and other materials that deal with the value of a Classical Christian education.
Why I want to teach at a classical school: I am a firm believer in the Classical Christian method.
Final thoughts: I have not been able to attend church regularly as I have done for most of my life, for the past few years, given some physical ailments I have struggled with and also some safety issues I have struggled with here in London.
