Position Information
Position desired: Administrator, Teacher
Subjects you can teach: 7-12 Humanities Teacher, 7-12 Literature Teacher, 7-12 Philosophy Teacher
Willing to relocate to: Anywhere in US
Summary:
I am seeking an upper school humanities position. My speciality is literature, although I have also taught history and introductory latin. I am well read in theology and philosophy too. My teaching philosophy is that all my students will hear the Gospel (usually weekly). One of the most magical things I have learned is the synthesis between the Western cannon and Scripture. God is magnified by a joyful and epic journey through the great writers. I believe even the pagan authors testify to the truth of the Bible and necessity of the Gospel. I particularly specialize in Myth (Homer, Fairy Tales, Inklings).
In addition to teaching, I would be interested in coaching or administration as a dean.

Middle and Upper School Humanities Teacher | Dominion Christian School | December 2020-October 2024 | I taught 1/2 grade combined, 4th grade, then 2.5 years teaching 7/8/9 American History and Literature |
Additional Qualifications:
Additional Experience with CCE: I was classically educated through high school and then attending Grove City College. I have attended an ACCS conference and read extensively on classical education.
Hobbies, Interests, and Family: I am a single 27 year old man. My interests are in the humanities. The most mathematical I get in my reading is economics/finance. I am a huge Lewis and Tolkien nerd. I see them as my teachers and hope to follow in their footsteps with my own research and writing. Other interests in the classical sphere are coalition and development. I am very close with my family which is large. I have 4 brothers and a sister, and recently 2 nieces and 2 nephews! My current hobbies are writing, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, dancing whenever possible, and traveling/hiking as much as I can.
Top 5 Books: – The Lord of the Rings
– The Iliad
– Hamlet
– The Scarlet Pimpernel
– Till We Have Faces
Top 3 Books: 1. Desiring the Kingdom – James K Smith
I read topically and have recently become interested in the heart, so this was a natural fit.
2. Peter Pan
I’m writing a book on myth and needed to revisit Neverland.
3. Leisure: The Basis of Culture and The Philosophical Act – Josef Pieper
I read about 10 books simultaneously and this just floated into the orbit and then I couldn’t put it down.
Most Influential Books: 1. The Lord of the Rings (And pretty much everything else Tolkien ever wrote)
2. Lewis: I can’t choose between Narnia, Till We Have Faces, Abolition, or Hideous Strength so all of them
3. Heretics/Orthodoxy – G.K. Chesterton. The final 4 paragraphs of Heretics and chapter 4 of Orthodoxy have deeply shaped me.
Preferred Denomination Type: Reformed
Current Church: Mclean Presbyterian Church
Current Church Denomination: PCA
Current Church Membership: No
Current Church Attendance: Weekly
Support of Traditional Marriage: Yes
Theology: I would say generally I am a “Mere Christian” with a Reformed bent. I grew up Presbyterian, and have traditionally said I would fit most in the PCA but I am starting to become curious in Anglicanism/liturgy. My greatest aim currently is unification of my soul to God. I grew up in a community that drastically valued the head over the heart and hands, and so I am seeking to balance things out a bit.
Belief in the inerrancy of Scripture?: Yes
Notes on Scripture:
Additional classical training: I have been classically educated for 27 years. My parents founded the study-center that I attended until I eventually went to a traditional brick and mortar school. From there I attended Grove City College which has a liberal arts foundation. The past 4 years I have worked at Dominion Christian School teaching literature and history. I was blessed to teach ancient literature to 9th graders, so I am deeply familiar with Homer and Virgil. I also taught a good amount of Lewis.
Why I want to teach at a classical school: I believe the Lord has called me to teach and write.
