Of all the hurdles and obstacles facing a classical Christian school, perhaps the most difficult to overcome is how to get teachers to not just teach classically, but to think classically!
Transformative Teaching is a faculty development series that walks you step-by-step towards a holistic classical integration. While there are a number of resources out there for putting together an integrated curriculum, they tend to separate curriculum integration from both the teacher and the school culture in which such integration takes place. The advantage to these Transformative Teaching modules is that they offer a holistic vision of education that integrates both the curriculum as well as the culture, programs as well as pedagogy, teacher as well as student, and sport as well as study.
As such, this video series emphasizes what it means to think classically. We’re not just interested in courses and subjects, or grammar, dialectic, or rhetoric; we’re interested in actually learning to think about the world in a distinctively classical Christian way, and then in turn invite our students into that vision.
With included outlines and discussion questions, the 10 modules can be used to train your faculty to effectively integrate your school’s curriculum and culture so as to enable your students to contemplate the True, Good, and Beautiful, shape their affections, and allow their faith to flourish.
