Summary
This seminar will survey the origin of classical education (beginning with the Greeks and Romans) and trace its evolution through history into its present and various manifestations.æ Competing definitions and manifestations of classical education will be examined and compared. The seminar will seek to achieve two primary objectives: 1) to provide board members, administrators, and staff with a fuller understanding of the context and tradition of classical education; 2) to enable the same persons to clearly define and communicate the kind of classical education espoused in their own schools.
