Summary

Classical literature is beautiful and rich with inspirational ideas; these are the kinds of books we want our children to read. The texts, however, are not easily accessible to young readers and it is tempting to offer less beautiful texts because of publishing trends in “children’s books.” This workshop will help you learn how to support students in learning to read using classical literature; we will also be reminded of why ñthe bestî is what students should always be offered. This workshop will be helpful for first through sixth grade classes.
