Dr. Rosaria Butterfield

Rosaria Butterfield was once a tenured professor of English who identified as a lesbian and worked to advance the cause of LGBT equality. After her conversion to Christ in 1999, she came to see the sinfulness of having any identity apart from Him.

Rosaria is married to Kent Butterfield, pastor of the First Reformed Presbyterian Church of Durham, and is a home-school mother, pastor’s wife, author, and speaker. She is helping Christians to better understand their LGBT neighbors and loved ones so that we can lovingly look past labels of sexual identity and share the gospel effectively.

In 2012, she published her conversion memoir, The Secret Thoughts of an Unlikely Convert: An English Professor’s Journey to Christian Faith. Her second book is Openness Unhindered: Further Thoughts of an Unlikely Convert on Sexual Identity and Union with Christ (2015). Her third book, The Gospel Comes with a House Key (2018) addresses the lost art of Christian hospitality. Rosaria writes about sexuality, identity, Christian hospitality and community, and seeks to encourage all in faithful Christian living and service.

By God through the merit and power of Jesus Christ, here I stand.

Dr. Daniel Coupland

Daniel Coupland is chairman of the education department and dean of faculty at Hillsdale College. He has served as advisor for the classical education minor and the liberal arts teacher apprenticeship for the past eleven years. Dr. Coupland was Hillsdale’s Professor of the Year in 2013. He holds a B.A. in Spanish, an M.A. in Linguistics, and a Ph.D. in Curriculum, Teaching, and Educational Policy.

Bill Stutzman – Hosting Live from Nashville

From teacher, to administrator, to parent, and back again, Bill can relate. This fall, he is headed to Classical Christian Academy in Idaho to join them as their headmaster, but not before making a stop in Nashville to join us at Repairing the Ruins 2020. When not with his school staff, his students, or his own three children, Bill can be found with his guitar in hand and a few notes (musical) scribbled on the nearest napkin.

Ty Fischer – Hosting Live from Harrisburg

Ty Fischer is passionate about classical Christian education. Currently, he heads Veritas Academy in Lancaster, PA, and is a board member for the ACCS. You might hear from Ty as he works with a growing network of donors, curriculum providers, parents, and classical educators to further classical Christian education. When he’s not busy fulfilling that vision, he is spending time with his wife and four daughters.
