Summary
In the wake of recent U.S. Supreme Court decisions on marriage and the growing number of states that have redefined marriage and reduced gender to a matter of choice, many Christian schools have sought guidance on how to navigate sexual orientation and gender identity issues in today’s challenging culture is workshop will address proactive steps Christian schools can take to avoid same-sex behavior, sexual identity confusion, and cross-dressing issues, and bolster their legal defenses should they face a lawsuit for discrimination.
Speaker
Christiana Holcomb, Esq , is passionate about religious freedom. She serves as litigation counsel for Alliance Defending Freedom at its headquarters in Scottsdale, Arizona, where she is an invaluable member of the Center for Religious Liberty. Since joining Alliance Defending Freedom in 2012, Holcomb has worked to protect the freedom of churches, Christian schools, and Christian ministries to freely exercise their faith without government interference. She also advocates for these issues as an Alliance Defending Freedom Regional Legal Academy faculty member and as a conference speaker throughout the country. After seeing first-hand the persecutions of Christians in Southeast Asia while on a mission trip, Holcomb knew her professional vocation was to fight for religious freedom. She believes religious freedom is fundamental to a free society, without which no society can flourish. She became a lawyer so that all Americans can be free to exercise their God-given freedoms protected by the Constitution Holcomb earned her J D at Oak Brook College, graduating summa cum laude in 2010 She also completed the Alliance Defending Freedom leadership development program to become a Blackstone Fellow in 2010. Holcomb is admitted to the bar in California She currently resides in Arizona.
