2012 Workshop Talk | 0:55:27 | All Grade Levels, Math
Summary
Effective methods of math assessment can be great tools not only for determining mastery of a lesson but also teaching mastery. There is no discipline in education where assessment is in greater need of improvement than mathematics. Assessment ought to be directed more at how a student thinks than a number in an answer box. This seminar will explore creative ways to assess a studentÍs understanding of mathematical ideas and how this can cultivate greater thinkers.
