Summary

Attendees were introduced to an easy exercise they can do with students that will cultivate an affection for commonplacing in their students. Attendees were also given very practical tips on how to organize their commonplacing program in a way that enhances student affection for commonplacing, provides continuity in their program across grade levels, directs students towards virtue and the Great Ideas and eternal truths, and incorporates commonplace books into all classrooms.

Speaker

Chris Browne works at the Ambrose School, in Boise, ID, having served as both a teacher and as an administrator. His academic passions are for the late Roman Empire and all things Tolkien. He is happily married to his soul mate, has two beautiful daughters who are both being classically educated, and in his free time he has three passions: his summer job as a whitewater rafting guide in the majestic Hells Canyon portion of the Snake River, his freshly restored vintage Mustang, and converting Tolkien stories into stage plays.
