Summary
WhatÍs the point in surveying parents? If they don’t like something, then they should speak with the appropriate person, right? Well, yes, but there are many good reasons to formally survey parents. In this workshop we’ll examine the benefits of parent surveys as well as some of the pitfalls to avoid. We’ll explore some guiding principles and delve into how to structure a survey that elicits the best responses from parents. We’ll explore specific kinds of questions to ask (and questions to avoid), methods to elicit the best return rate, and how to best use the results to further your school mission.

Ryan Evans has spent over twenty years in Christian education, both as a teacher and an administrator, and is the headmaster of Providence Classical Christian School in Kirkland, Washington He and his wife, Maely, have three children, all of whom attend Providence The Evanses are members at Exile Presbyterian Church in Kirkland RyanÍs interests include Flannery OÍConnorÍs short stories, fantasy baseball, owls, old books, and perusing ebay for packs of vintage baseball cards
