Summary


As administrators and board members, what we read helps refresh and renew our vision for classical, Christian education Further, great books provide wisdom, encouragement, and guidance as we seek to faithfully lead and oversee our schools. Both Recovering the Lost Tools of Learning (Doug Wilson) and The Seven Laws of Teaching (John Milton Gregory) are appropriately considered foundational texts for teachers, administrators, and board members. In this workshop, we will examine additional “must read” books in the areas of board governance and leadership, Christian education, classical education, and worldview development. This workshop is intended to benefit both new and veteran administrators and board members.

Speaker


Ryan Evans has spent over twenty years in Christian education, both as a teacher and an administrator, and is the headmaster of Providence Classical Christian School in Kirkland, Washington. He and his wife, Maely, have three children, all of whom attend Providence. The Evanses are members at Exile Presbyterian Church in Kirkland Ryan’s interests include Flannery O’Connor’s short stories, fantasy baseball, owls, old books, and perusing ebay for packs of vintage baseball cards.
