Drawing can be almost painful at times for me because my references are too impossibly beautiful to capture in full. God has placed such incredible intricacy and life in His creation that I can’t help wanting to imitate his work. Sherrie Russel Meline is inspiring to me because she does this very well. The amount of delicate detail in her artwork is breathtaking, especially the feathers on her waterfowl. Her pieces also have a gentle personality and life brought out by the use of acrylic wash. Although my drawing was colored pencil, I wanted the geese to have that intricacy, that quiet presence, that will make others marvel at the skill of the Master Artist.
