Summary


This workshop will answer multiple questions regarding teaching history at the grammar level. Why do we teach history? How do we teach history? Where do we begin? The workshop will also provide practical information on how to create long range plans, how to plan each lesson most effectively, and how to make history come alive for your students.

Speaker


Brooke Voelp has been a classroom teacher for 18 years. She has taught second grade for seven years and first grade for four years at Rockbridge Academy. She has previously spoken at the national ACCS convention about the grammar of history and multiple times at Rockbridge AcademyÍs summer teacher training. Brooke holds a bachelorÍs degree in elementary education from the University of Maryland and a masterÍs degree in curriculum and instruction from Loyola University. Brooke has been married to her husband, Bill, for 24 years and they have two children, Corrine (21), a graduate of Rockbridge Academy, and Jacob (15), who will be entering the 11th grade.
