Summary

Your effectiveness as a teacher can hinge upon how you manage the unexpected, and foster a class setting where children feel challenged to do their best but still feel secure and comfortable. This workshop will discuss: (1) how to create a classroom environment that fosters positive expectations; (2) the important tools of consistent discipline, class procedures, and routines; (3) adding tempo or pacing changes to lessons; (4) how varying the methods of teaching can meet your needs as a teacher who wants to have fun with his/her students while meeting the emotional and educational needs of young scholars. This workshop will be helpful to teachers grades 4_6 who have been teaching for three years or less.
