Summary
Art teachers are always on the lookout for fresh ideas in lesson planning, materials, and classroom management Whether you teach art as a specialty or integrate art into other subjects, this workshop is for you! With several years’ experience in the classical Christian environment, your workshop leader will guide you through some tried and true methods, concepts, and recommendations for this inspiring and beautiful subject. Attendees will also have the chance to try a hands-on project, connect with other art teachers, and take home a few lesson plans.
Speaker
Lucinda Rawdon Brown has taught at Veritas School in Newberg, OR, since 2007. She holds a BFA in art from Marylhurst University, and a certificate in electronic publishing from the University of Oregon Continuation Center. Lucinda has a passion for the connection between the arts and our Christian faith, and considers teaching art to be a call to ministry. She teaches K_8 classes weekly, and provides hands-on labs for high school art history students. She has taught to students of all ages as a private instructor, has served as curator for church art galleries, and has led support groups for Christians in the visual arts. She additionally serves as yearbook advisor and graphic designer at Veritas. Lucinda has been married to Michael since 1994 and they have five grown sons between them, a passel of grandchildren, plus their youngest child, a daughter, who is currently in high school at Veritas.
