Summary:
I have five years’ teaching experience at classical Christian schools in Canada. During the first two years, I was a Gr. 7-8 homeroom teacher; the second two years, I took on the role of Latin teacher; this past year I helped to start a new collaborative school, serving as the headmaster and Gr. 8-9 teacher. My passion and gifts are for classroom teaching, specifically in the Logic-Rhetoric stages. I am proficient in beginner-intermediate Latin (have taught Latin for Children A, B, C, Latin Alive 1-2, and part of Familia Romana). I studied biblical Greek and Hebrew in seminary, and I took conversational German for three years in high school. Hence, learning and teaching languages is a passion of mine.
My formal education is in religion and theology, with a focus in historical theology. I have lectured on Church History at my local Bible college and taught several adult Christian education classes on Church History in the local church. I enjoy teaching Logic and Literature (primarily 19th-20th century). I have also taught Gr. 6-8 Singapore Math and tutored Gr. 9-10 Saxon Math. I play several musical instruments well enough, with formal training in guitar. I love to play soccer and basketball. I enjoy cooking with my wife and visiting new places. We have five children (newborn to 10 years).

I am private Christian school educator with over 30 years experience in the classroom, and 5 years in administration. I have taught I am an adoptive father who is completing 5 years as a home school teacher of 4 adopted sisters. I am looking to return to the regular classroom for the duration of my teaching career I have looking for the chance to apply for a position in the area of my experience and strength and allow my youngest daughter to have a classroom education through her middle and high school years.
I have provided instruction to students in each of the middle and secondary history subjects including AP Histories, as well as Bible, Worldview and arts courses including bands, chorus, and drama. I am comfortable presenting before class sizes from small groups to full assemblies, and have experience planning for all the above-mentioned courses with varied emphases to accommodate a multicultural body of students aged from K3 to adult. Training teachers in the rigor and flexibility necessary for successful private school instruction and administrating a K-12 school have provided a great broadening of perspective regarding what success in private Christian school education entails. I also have experience in education administration, having been a high school principal and K-12 school principal.
I am excited at the prospect of joining the staff of a private Christian school where I can become a contributing member.

Summary:
By divine appointment, God called me into teaching and led me to classical Christian education. I taught for one year at Covenant Classical Christian School in Columbia, SC before moving to the United Arab Emirates to live with my wife. We are currently in the process of obtaining her visa and should have it by the end of this year; once we have it, we’ll move back to the States. Although I would like to teach in the south, specifically Texas or South Carolina, I am very flexible and willing to go wherever Abba leads.
I adore teaching and cannot imagine doing anything else! The Lord has truly gifted me with this calling, although I still have a long way to go until I can confidently say that I am a good teacher. I am also flexible with what I teach. While my teaching degree is in elementary education and my connection with grammar school students is best towards the later years, I’ve discovered a passion for apologetics and PE, completing a master’s degree in exercise science and wellness to improve my personal health and coaching ability. I teach apologetics classes to my church congregation and have led the occasional group fitness class. I most desire to teach PE, but I am also a strong mathematician and have routinely tutored adolescents in math; I believe I would excel as a math teacher if given the chance.
Concerning extracurricular activities, at Covenant I coached the cross country and chess teams. A runner and chess player myself, I thoroughly enjoy challenging students to achieve more in their spheres of passion, always encouraging them to surpass their current limits and beat me someday. A Covenant parent once told me that I have a gift for coaching the day after his 2nd grade son beat him for the first time at a chess game! I believe a truly God-honoring teacher will desire to contribute meaningfully to the overall life of the school; I can do this with coaching and chess.
I’ve learned much about teaching during my time in the United Arab Emirates. I believe my experience here will provide me with a unique perspective when I return to classical Christian education. For example, I’ve witnessed firsthand the power of paideia and now understand why Islam is so captivating for billions of Muslims. Experiencing this has increased my understanding of the importance of paidaia in classical Christian education. In summary, I will contribute my absolute best to God’s kingdom work wherever He leads.

I am someone with an interest in teaching students about theology. I have a BA in Missions, an M.Div., an MA in Eastern Orthodox Theology, and a ThM (in all but thesis) which I hope to finish over the summer. I enjoy talking about theology. church history, and pastoral everyday applications of these things. I firmly believe that how one thinks theologically influences how a person lives and it is important to provide people with tools for that process. Helping people grasp theological concepts or articulating them in a way that makes sense has always been fun for me and I would like the opportunity to help others explore the wonders of theology as I have over the last 20 years. There is much that I have studied in theology and even more that I do not know, but that is part of the beauty of theology, because it shapes the world around us and yet we can never reach the end of the subject.
As for who I am on a personal level, I was raised in the Church of the Nazarene, studied for the better part of a decade in Nazarene institutions before exploring what I considered a gap in my knowledge of the church. This brought me to NY and a context I did not know. It also resulted in me becoming Eastern Orthodox, but with an appreciation of where I had come from, because without that I would not be where I am now. Many times the thinking of John and Charles Wesley still serve as a handle for theology. While, I am no longer Protestant, my knowledge and respect for Protestantism remains. Though there are points of theology where I may differ from Protestants, I believe we can still learn from each other and live in mutual respect.

My desire is to disciple the nations, beginning with the younger generations, bringing them into Christ’s church as faithful members of his body. When I first became a Christian, I had very little discipleship and people to hold me accountable. As a result, my early Christian walk was tumultuous. I do not want others, especially the younger group of Christians, to have the same experience. Discipleship begins in the church, but since the Lord’s Day is once a week, discipleship must continue throughout the week. Christian education is the perfect place for this kind of discipleship to happen.

I am a current Master of Arts in Teaching candidate at Calvin University in Grand Rapids, MI. To provide a bit of background on myself, I graduated with my B.A. in History from Hillsdale College in 2021, and I worked in banking and mortgage for a couple of years after graduation. After some consideration, prayer, and reflection, I decided that the financial sector was not providing the fulfillment and contribution to God’s Kingdom that I was seeking, so I enrolled in a teaching certification and master’s program at Calvin University. I will graduate in May, so I am seeking a teaching role for the 2025-2026 school year. As a student (both at Hillsdale and in a classical middle school program I attended), I appreciated how the classical model trains the student in diligence amidst a deep appreciation for the traditions that brought us to this point in history. I am fairly flexible as to what subjects I teach, but I will be certified in secondary (6-12) social studies upon my graduation. With my work at the bank, I am also interested in teaching economics or personal finance. I took college Latin and love the language, so I would also be open to adding Latin courses, although I would have to start out teaching at a more basic level (but I would be open to learning more to teach at a higher level in the future). I am a reformed Christian, and I deeply value the Christian community and my personal relationship with the Lord. I look forward to speaking with you!

Over the past 3 years, I have served as the founding Head of School at Veritas Christi Classical Academy. As head of VCCA, my responsibilities include the following:
• Curated resources and developed a curriculum guide to provide our students with a rich feast of the good and great books of Western Civilization, by learning to use the tools of learning, i.e. the liberal arts.
• Developed teacher training by meeting one-on-one with teachers, facilitating monthly training sessions, observing classrooms, and creating study guides and teacher handbooks
• Cultivated a Christ-centered culture, ensuring that students, staff, and families grow together in their faith to become virtuous ambassadors of Christ.
• Communicated with families and the community through newsletters, social media, informational meetings, open houses, and celebration events
• Designed marketing material such as brochures, website, school signage, and school identity, including logo (I have over 25 years of experience in graphic design)
• Managed day-to-day operations, such as scheduling, ordering supplies, reports, bookkeeping, developing handbooks, and monitoring the needs of teachers and parents
• Taught classes, which include literature, math, science, history, Latin, logic and art.
My educational philosophy has been influenced by David Hicks, Kevin Clark and Ravi Jain, Robert Littlejohn, Charles Evans, and Charlotte Mason. True Christian education or paideia is passing on our Christian inheritance to the next generation. This centers on nurturing students in wisdom and virtue, equipping them to think with discernment, communicate eloquently, properly order their loves, and glorify God with their lives. These qualities are essential for raising the next generation of leaders who will impact their communities for Christ.

Summary:
For the past 15 years I have enjoyed helping my undergraduate students not only to think logically per se but also logically about important philosophical questions. Such questions, to my mind, are not purely academic. Rather, how one answers these questions can have significant consequences for one’s everyday life and the lives of others. I also have enjoyed doing my part in in helping my students grow in their character and psychological well-being. Through the design of my courses, I aim to instill resilience and conscientiousness in my students, two key virtues the possession of which is vital to their well-being regardless of their chosen vocation. And I also strive to model for my students heart-felt kindness, respect, compassion, and humility. In short, I seek to contribute to the flourishing of my students as whole persons; to their intellectual, psychological, and moral development.
I believe that I will have more opportunity to contribute to the flourishing of students (as whole persons) in a classical Christian setting. For one, there is more of a relational component to teaching in the classical Christian tradition. While I have been able to get to know some of my current students on a more personal level, that I will be seeing my students every day and for a longer duration during the day (not to mention smaller class sizes) will enable me more opportunity to build relationships with my students. Furthermore, and importantly, I want to be more God-centered in my teaching. I certainly adhere to the motto that ‘all truth is God’s truth’ and my desire is to have this reflected in everything I teach. I delight in Paul’s assertion: In Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. I desire the opportunity to be in an environment where this truth can, in a very explicit way, be the starting point (the foundation) from which my lessons flow. My current secular campus certainly is not such an environment. There is an ever-increasing and palpable fear amongst students and instructors of “saying the wrong thing.” More and more, in my experience, the secular university is becoming a place where knowledge of truth is not valued.
Surely, teaching younger students would be an adjustment. I am not terribly concerned about this, however. For I have always had a heart for younger kids and I have experience interacting with them in an educational (e.g. tutoring) and athletic setting (e.g. coaching). Also, I do not think my teaching style would fundamentally change as I already practice (and thoroughly enjoy) the Socratic method with my current students. To me it seems easier to modify the content of what is taught (e.g. utilizing philosophy books written for children) than to modify the way it is taught. Surely, as well, I am open to learning more about how to effectively interact with younger students; and more broadly I am open to learning more about what makes for a good teacher in the classical Christian tradition.

I am seeking an upper school humanities position. My speciality is literature, although I have also taught history and introductory latin. I am well read in theology and philosophy too. My teaching philosophy is that all my students will hear the Gospel (usually weekly). One of the most magical things I have learned is the synthesis between the Western cannon and Scripture. God is magnified by a joyful and epic journey through the great writers. I believe even the pagan authors testify to the truth of the Bible and necessity of the Gospel. I particularly specialize in Myth (Homer, Fairy Tales, Inklings).

Jacob Huneycutt – Seeking Teaching Position in Classical Christian Education
I am seeking a teaching position at a classical Christian school where I can help shape young minds through rigorous academics and biblical discipleship. I recently completed a two-year internship in college ministry with Reformed University Fellowship (RUF) at the University of South Florida, where I gained valuable experience mentoring students, leading Bible studies, and teaching in both one-on-one and group settings.
I hold a master’s degree in history from Baylor University and have a deep passion for the humanities. I am particularly drawn to the classical model of education and have recently read Dorothy Sayers’ “The Lost Tools of Learning,” which convinced me of how the Trivium is a powerful framework for teaching and learning. I have also seen firsthand, through interactions with peers and classical school students in the churches I have been a part of, how well classical Christian education equips students with the ability to think clearly, order their loves properly, and engage meaningfully with the world for the glory of Christ.
I am most interested in teaching history, Bible, philosophy, and other humanities courses, but I am open to other subjects where my skills align, including non-humanities subjects, like math and science, at the middle school level. I would love to connect with schools that share a vision for Christ-centered education and academic excellence.

I have been working with children in the UK for the past ten years assisting them in the after school hours in the capacity of a Tutor/Nanny. In this role I had the opportunity to support students with their academic work by assisting them with their homework assignments and by providing them with extra curriculum teaching in, Latin, visual arts and drama. I have also had the opportunity to teach in Classical schools in US few decades ago. My responsibility back then was to instruct students in the primary level in Latin.
For the past ten years I have been writing children stories, some biblical and other fictional. I love writing to children and although I have not been able to secure a traditional publishing contract yet, I do hope to achieve this goal someday. Communicating and inspiring children by means of the written word summs up my professional endeavour in the long term.
I love working with children. I am passionate about teaching and about promoting their God given potential. Although I was not able to work in a Christian environment for a long time, and for some reason was not able to use my US education here in the UK, I hope to be able to do so by secure a teaching contract in United States.

Summary:
I am a second-year public school teacher eager to join the classical Christian movement. Currently teaching at my high school alma mater, I teach sophomore English and debate. I have over 100 students and coach nine speech, debate, and academic events. I have developed and taught material on Shakespeare, Homer, Orwell, and Ovid, often aimed at developing skills in critical thinking and close-reading. I was awarded “Teacher of the Year” by my school’s faculty during the 2023-2024 school year.
My desire to teach at a classical Christian school stems from a set of core convictions. First, I believe education should be all about shaping students into Christ’s image — the embodiment of all perfect virtue. I believe teaching students how to think is incomparably more important than teaching them how to be useful, and more satisfying too, since as Aristotle once said, “To be seeking always after the useful does not become free and exalted souls” (Politics, Book VIII). With Scripture as our guide, I believe the Western intellectual tradition can equip students with a wisdom and eloquence fitting for any path the Lord leads them on.
I graduated from Columbia University in the spring of 2023. While at Columbia, I studied English literature, delighted in the Core Curriculum, and took several classes in the Classics department. My formal study in ancient languages includes five semesters of ancient Greek and two semesters of Classical Latin. In addition, I am soon to complete a Biblical Hebrew Certificate through Reformed Theological Seminary.
I am hoping to work for a school that has a robust culture of Christlike oversight, accountability, relationship, and mentorship. I desire to join a gospel-saturated culture, a community thick with the love of the Lord, where everything is done for the glory of our King.

I will graduate in April of 2025 with my master’s degree in Medieval Studies from the Medieval Institute of Western Michigan University. My undergraduate degree was in Classics. I love learning and have a well-rounded background in many humanities subjects and periods. My hope is to teach Latin at the middle to high school level, although I am also open to other humanities positions. Particularly, my background is in Latin language, both classical and ecclesiastical/medieval, and in the Middle Ages. I have over a decade of experience with the Latin language, six years of post-high school Latin education, and two years of teaching experience at the undergraduate level. I have worked in history, philosophy, classics, and medieval studies classrooms.
My experience in education has taught me the importance of nurturing the whole person, leading them to learn about God’s creation and to grow in their appreciation of Truth and their wonder of the good and the beautiful. Although I thought that I might one day pursue a professorship, my teaching undergraduate students at Western Michigan University has inspired in me the desire to teach younger students. I have seen firsthand that the instruction that students receive prior to their entrance into the university level is crucial, not only to their ability to excel, but also to their mindset toward learning. My hope is to encourage all my students in the joy of learning and instill in them the ability and desire to become lifelong learners.
I am seeking a school that will all me to explore the classical model in a school that is Christ-driven in its mission. It is my sincere desire to find a community where I can make a positive contribution to students, parents, and faculty alike, while learning from those who have years of experience instructing children according to the classical model.

Christian philosopher returning from Hong Kong to the US in 2025 and landing with family in Texas. Looking for a good honest educational job. Huge fan of great texts and the Trivium! (I teach Latin, Logic, and just a bit of Rhetoric to my own kids.) Christian. (Specifically Baptist, inerrantist, non-Dispensationalist premillenialist but not worried about which eschatology is correct, and non-Calvinist with some respect for Infralapsarian Calvinism.) Solid Christian worldview. (Lots of Augustine and David Naugle–studied under Naugle myself.) Some respectable publications in theology and philosophy.
Willing to consider relocating (especially if it’s somewhere between Texas, Florida, and Tennessee).

Interested in teaching, and maybe even in taking on a leadership role.
